Flu Outbreak Declared a Pandemic
World Health Organization told its member nations it was declaring a swine flu pandemic Thursday — the first global flu epidemic in 41 years — as infections climbed in the United States, Europe, Australia, South America and elsewhere. In a statement sent to member countries, WHO said it decided to raise the pandemic warning level from phase 5 to 6 — its highest alert — after holding an emergency meeting on swine flu with its experts.(Note: Please disable your pop-up blocker) The long-awaited pandemic decision is scientific confirmation that a new flu virus has emerged and is quickly circling the globe. It will trigger drugmakers to speed up production of a swine flu vaccine and prompt governments to devote more money toward efforts to contain the virus. "At this early stage, the pandemic can be characterized globally as being moderate in severity," WHO said in the statement, urging nations not to close borders or restrict travel and trade. "(We) remain in close dialogue with influenza vaccine manufacturers." On Wednesday, WHO said 74 countries had reported nearly 27,737 cases of swine flu, including 141 deaths. The agency has stressed that most cases are mild and require no treatment, but the fear is that a rash of new infections could overwhelm hospitals and health authorities — especially in poorer countries. Still, about half of the people who have died from swine flu were previously young and healthy — people who are not usually susceptible to flu. Swine flu is also continuing to spread during the start of summer in the northern hemisphere. Normally, flu viruses disappear with warm weather, but swine flu is proving to be resilient. The last pandemic — the Hong Kong flu of 1968 — killed about 1 million people. Ordinary flu kills about 250,000 to 500,000 people each year. Many health experts say WHO's pandemic declaration could have come weeks earlier but the agency became bogged down by politics. In May, several countries urged WHO not to declare a pandemic, fearing it would cause social and economic turmoil. "This is WHO finally catching up with the facts," said Michael Osterholm, a flu expert at the University of Minnesota who has advised the U.S. government on pandemic preparations. Despite WHO's hopes, raising the epidemic alert to the highest level will almost certainly spark some panic about spread of swine flu. Fear has already gripped Argentina, where thousands of people worried about swine flu flooded into hospitals this week, bringing emergency health services in the capital of Buenos Aires to the brink of collapse. Last month, a bus arriving in Argentina from Chile was stoned by people who thought a passenger on it had swine flu. Chile has the most swine flu cases in South America.
First Person Dies Under New Suicide Law
OLYMPIA, Wash. (May 22) - A 66-year-old woman with terminal cancer has become the first person to die under Washington state's new assisted suicide law, an advocacy group said Friday.
Linda Fleming, of Sequim, died Thursday night after taking drugs prescribed under the "Death with Dignity" law that took effect in March, said Compassion & Choices of Washington.
The organization says Fleming was diagnosed last month with advanced pancreatic cancer. She would have had to have been diagnosed by two doctors as terminal in order to qualify for assisted suicide.
Officials with the advocacy group said Fleming died at home with her family, her dog and her physician at her bedside.
"The pain became unbearable, and it was only going to get worse," Fleming said in a statement released by the organization.
A physician prescribed the drugs, but patients in assisted suicides must administer the drugs themselves.
The new law was approved in November with nearly 60 percent of the vote. It is based on a 1997 Oregon measure, under which about 400 people have ended their lives.
Under both states' laws, physicians and pharmacists are not required to write or fill lethal prescriptions if they are opposed to the law. Some hospitals have opted out of the law, which precludes their doctors from participating on hospital property.
In Washington, any patient requesting fatal medication must be at least 18, declared competent and be a state resident.
Two doctors would have to certify that the patient has a terminal condition and six months or less to live. The patient must also make two oral requests, 15 days apart, and make a written request witnessed by two people.

What is America without the Constitution?
The Constitution is the original mind of America. It was created so as to prevent tyranny. It is the protector of the rights of all that pledge allegiance to it. The Constitution was very carefully written by men who understood tyranny and living under the rule of Government that would change laws at the drop of a hat. This is Government that could change person’s rights at its own convenience. Our founding Fathers called this tyranny and wanted a Government that was ruled by morality and laws based on morality that could not be changed by a minority of people who did not like the constitution or its laws.
Our Founding Fathers had no Idea that the future of America would be the support of immoral ideas and perverse laws.
Thomas Jefferson said: Morality is intimately related to a nation's government, for as James Madison wrote, "To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people is a chimerical idea."
A government without virtue is a fantasy or fairy tail of an idea, the reason being immorality produces tyranny. There has never been and never will be good evil men. How can we apply the word virtue to an Abortionist or Homosexuals? You may not remember but I remember when these things were crimes punishable by law. A change of attitude toward these things reveals the degeneration of the minds of people in the last 35 years. Now our Constitution has become a thorn in the side of a nation of perverts. They are a people of lust and greed who purpose to inflict tyranny upon those that support virtue and morality.

The only goal of the immoralist is to get rid of the constitution. President Obama said the constitution is flawed, and yet he swore on a bible to uphold it. This statement would have been considered treason by our founding Fathers. We are at the threshold of destruction by tyrannical elements that are produced by the sinful nature of degenerates. A form of tyranny that our founding Fathers had no idea could take place in a people. They had only experienced it in the form of Monarchy and religious rule by the Catholic Church. A democracy is only good if the majority is moral; if they are evil, democracy is evil because it is a government of the people and by the people. I do not believe that immoralist is the majority but that we have a majority of immoral politicians.
Our constitution says; No bill of attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed. Ex post facto laws retroactively change the rules of evidence in criminal case, retroactively alter the definition of a crime, retroactively increase the punishment for a criminal act, or punish conduct that was a legal when committed. They are prohibited by Article I, Section 10, Clause 1, of the U.S. Constitution. An ex post facto law is considered a hallmark of tyranny because it deprives people of a sense of what behavior will or will not be punished and allows for random punishment at the whim of those in power.
I believe this law was made to be as simple as it is written. It was written so as that no laws could be changed to inflict tyranny upon people who uphold the Constitution, those that agree and support the moral and virtuous ideas by the constitution. Any who change the moral law as to support what was previously by law considered to be unlawful moral conduct is ex post facto law, and is tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson said: from experience, we know that human beings do not always act in accordance with right and justice. Injustice in government undermines the foundations of a society. A nation, therefore, must take measures to encourage its members along the paths of justice and morality. The human character, we believe, requires in general constant and immediate control to prevent its being biased from right by the seductions of self-love. "Self-love... is the sole antagonist of virtue, leading us constantly by our carnal desires to self-gratification in violation of our moral duties to others. Accordingly, it is against this enemy that are erected the batteries of moralists and religionists, as the only obstacle to the practice of morality. Take from man his selfish carnal desires, and he can have nothing to seduce him from the practice of virtue. Or subdue those carnal desires by education, instruction or restraint, and virtue remains without a competitor.
The Constitution does not support the freedom of propensities, lust of the flesh, carnal desires, self love, but Moral ideas and virtuous actions for the Good of the nation. Self love is a killer only death can come from it. Self love is homosexuality because it says I love myself more than God that condemns it, or others that I might kill by sexually transmitted diseases. Self love is Adultery that says I love myself more than God or my wife who I have vowed fidelity. Self love is abortion that says I love myself more than God or my baby. Thomas Jefferson said that these kinds of self love required immediate control and that is why we used to have laws preventing this kind of behavior. Our founding Fathers knew that self love would destroy people’s lives and the strength of the country. This has proven to be true; the lust for money, power, sex and drugs has brought this nation to ruin. The passing of laws to make self love to be the rights of the people is only adding fuel to the flames that are burning this nation down.

President Obama, in an address Friday to the United States Naval Academy's graduating class, said the new officers were charged not only to "protect and defend the American people," but also to uphold the Constitution of the United States.
Obama's remarks came the day after his speech defending his national security approach, specifically his plan to close Guantanamo Bay, at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Former Vice President Dick Cheney also gave a speech Thursday criticizing Obama's security policies and defending the decisions made during the Bush administration.
